
| WISCONSIN PARK AND RECREATION ASSOCIATION Founded in 1965, the Wisconsin Park and Recreation Association is a statewide voluntary organization dedicated to enriching the professional and educational opportunities available to leisure service personnel in parks, recreation, therapeutic recreation and related fields, so that they may better service the needs of their communicates and or participants, and to advocate and promote the benefits of parks and leisure services to the general public. WPRA represents over 1,600 individuals delivering a broad spectrum of services in Wisconsin. Members include Park, Recreation and Therapeutic Recreation professionals in local, county, state, school district, private and agency settings. WPRA also represents public Park and Recreation Boards and Commissions, students, commercial firms and Emeritus (retired) members. The mission of the Wisconsin Park & Recreation Association is to provide professionals and agencies with leadership, educational, personal and professional development opportunities, in order to promote the benefits of park, recreational, environmental and cultural services to our State and communities. Juliene Hefter, Deputy Director and her husband Alan are going to be raising a new Boston Terrier that they will be bringing home on June 22, 2005. His name is Kirby and they will be getting him from Brian and Heidi Kutina from “Brian’s Bostons”. As part of Juliene’s job as Deputy Director for WPRA, she is in charge of the development and updating of the WPRA website at www.wpraweb.org. She is also in charge of the monthly on-line newsletter called PRMonthly, which, beginning in June has a new special interest column called “Tails from Kirby” which will include various topics regarding bringing your new puppy home and housebreaking your new puppy, as well as sharing with members any pet stories that they would like to provide for the column. |
